property|people is committed to providing privacy to all its clients, and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 and the associated National Privacy Principles (NPP).
As a Real Estate Office, personal information is held as a normal transaction of business. The types of personal information held are:

  • Information from Sellers used in respect to the Sale and Marketing of their properties and businesses
  • The required use of information collected from various databases to gain knowledge to perform a comparison of sales in order to appraise a property to the current market value
  • The collection of data from various areas to compile a programme for marketing, selling and leasing properties and businesses
  • Personal information from purchasers and intended purchasers for the purpose of buying property.
  • Acquiring of information on properties, owners and tenants used for the purpose of managing and leasing residential and commercial properties
  • Agreed use of personal information from prospective tenants to acquire information from tenancy databases prior to an acceptance of a lease
  • The use of Third party sources for information in relation to the market value, sale and marketing of properties for sale or lease. This third party information would be from government departments such as Landgate, Valuers General Office etc.
All personal details of clients are maintained on file and are not disclosed to any third party.
Any person requiring to view their personal details can, by application, and a cost for copying details, can be made by the company for that information. Once an application has been received property|people will respond within 14 days of receipt of the application.
property|people have the right not to disclose personal information if it evaluates that there could be a security or legal risk in supplying the release of documents.
property|people will take all reasonable steps to maintain an accurate and complete up to date record of personal information.
property|people are responsible in the destruction of any unused personal information by de-identifying and removal by qualified contractors.
